Biyo means “water” in Somali. We are a small, founder-led nonprofit in Buffalo working to help families get clean water, food, clothing, and hygiene supplies — starting with our own neighbors.
Why we exist

Halima grew up in Somalia through conflict and refugee life, at a time when clean water could never be taken for granted. Buffalo has been her home for more than twenty years. Biyo Hope Foundation is her way of giving back — to the city that welcomed her, and to families still living without the basics.
What we do

Clean water
Safe drinking water is where our work begins. It affects health, school, safety, and the hours in a family’s day.
Everyday essentials
Food, clothing, and hygiene supplies for individuals and families going through a hard season.
Community
We listen first and work alongside local people and organizations who already know their neighborhoods.

Warm Drinks, Warm Hearts
Our first community outreach is being planned with Pastor Scott and the Buffalo Dream Center. We hope to share hot chocolate and traditional Somali coffee with neighbors experiencing homelessness. We will share the date here once it is confirmed.

We begin by serving our local communities in New York State, with a long-term vision of extending our impact to underserved communities across Africa.
Over time, we hope to work on water issues across Africa, wherever safe water is out of reach — guided by community needs and trusted partners.
